“How should I use the web to best transform my business?” We hear that question from clients every day as the digital media landscape continues to evolve. The reality is that there is no easy answer.

This week, I’ll get to explore that topic in depth at one of my favorite conferences: the the Futures of Entertainment 2, put on by MIT’s Comparative Media Studies Program and the Convergence Culture Consortium.

Futures of Entertainment 2

Why is this conference so great? The cynics may say that it’s just another conference, right?

This one’s a little different, actually — Futures of Entertainment is one of the few conferences that gets the big-brained academics and big-money industrialists to share and has it out over topics as diverse as metrics, advertising, mobile, cult creations, and fan contributions.

Key speakers include: Marc Davis is Social Media Guru at Yahoo! Inc.; Alice Kim Senior Vice President of Digital Distribution and Partner Relations for MTV Networks; Tina Wells, CEO of Buzz Marketing Group; Jesse Alexander, co-executive producer and writer on Heroes; and of course Henry Jenkins , the Director of the MIT Comparative Media Studies Program.

For a full roster, check out the Futures of Entertainment website.

I’ll post highlights and insights live from the conferece as they come — should be some fascinating stuff!
